It's been two weeks now without smoking tobacco.
To many that may not mean much, but to others, it does. Ironically with tobacco "we're given a choice". Pay the tax, smoke it. Kill yourself. To those who never indulged, you're fortunate. Tobacco is bad stuff.
I have struggled with tobacco addiction since around age 16. From 40 years ago.
I've quit before, for as long as 3 years, twice... a year or more a couple other times... and always i told myself this was it - the end. But always, the "fix" was everywhere around me, advertising, and state taxes depending on cigarettes being sold. They kill people, and they'll contribute to my death, even though once again I've quit.
2 Weeks Now...
Tobacco truly is a schedule one type drug... the true form of such a drug... but it can't be outlawed, any more than alcohol can be.
I saw my doctor yesterday due to a cough... I have chronic bronchitis, and am going for tests for COPD.
In my early 20's I would have gladly dropped tobacco if cannabis was legal. Today, because each plant is different, and tobacco just happens to be one of the most unhealthy, I'd be pretty healthy if I'd been able to smoke a little pot rather than have a pack or two a day habit for tobacco.
Prohibitive laws are mostly political, not for public safety. The science behind which "drugs" are legal and which aren't is often not based on any science. And no two plants are a like - except for basics like anything burned creates CO (carbon monoxide). Plant tars are a science of itself... no two plants have the same chemistry/tars and the effects of each is different.
It just so happens tobacco is one of the worst plants to use, let alone be addicted to it. Cannabis is one of the safest, but one of the most illegal.
My doctor asked me, considering the rapid success to my not smoking tobacco, if I had cravings for tobacco? I told him no. The reasons:
1) My housemate grossed me out after my other HM dropped a cigarette under her desk, 4 days into my cessation, he found it first and knowing how much it might mean to me, he offered it to me. After he stuck it up his nose.
2) In a previous post I wrote about "K2" type cannabis substitutes that are being marketed. I had said No to them. Well, now I'm saying yes. Compared to the alternative, smoke tobacco, can't get cannabis, "K2 Type" quality smoking products are worth buying; not addictive, herbal in form and mostly safe to use. They get you slightly high, but mostly it's simply pleasant to smoke.
In life we have to make choices. Sometimes we can actually accomplish our goal. Other times, for whatever reason it doesn't work out, or it only works for awhile. For myself I've always wanted to understand the choices I make, but am at the same time pummeled by opinions and do-gooders that feel they know better.
Yes... this is my autobiography. It is that because I can't pretend to be an entertainer or journalist. I am a writer... and that's what i'm going to do. Write.
It's all fiction... and what? Do you think I'd write the truth about my life? Ironically, though truth is stranger than fiction, fiction based on truth is stranger than life. The reason is, our advanced cognitive abilities creates a paradox of expression, like how do we "be ourselves" if being ourselves means to admit we do things questionable by "society"? Our advanced tools and means of communication make it obvious we are to share... but share what?
If you're within the embrace of the culture - married, with children, college degrees, and "normal" lifestyle, you win. If you're outside of that region, you play the game. Nobody that I know enjoys playing games to survive, but that the way it is. And that is the where of where this autobiography is going to.
I give this country a grade of A for protecting our 1st Amendment rights. I also give Henry V. Miller, recognition and credit for making that a reality... for confronting the right wing extremists who felt they had a legal right to dictate morality and freedom of speech.
The early 20th century was extraordinarily interesting... an interest of mine, let's say.
And the vote of 46% - 54% to legalize cannabis in CA was a victory. After 70+ years of extreme propaganda and ruined lives over a plant that is primarily beneficial, to have 46% of the population of such a large state vote YES, is very significant. I would have been happy with 33%.
To understand my autobiography, you need to understand I'm one of those people that was transformed in a very positive way when introduced to cannabis. I was also one of those people most strongly opposed to it. It makes me wonder if I had been a kid around age 16 in Germany, 1938, if by 1940 I wouldn't have deserted the German Army and gone underground working for the resistance?
What side are you on??? Would you turn your neighbor in for offering you cannabis? Would you see that as similar to murdering your neighbor? Do you see how tobacco, not cannabis, is killing millions of people? Do you see how to make a decision we need the facts?
My autobiography will be anything but boring...
Whether I'm dead tomorrow or 50 years from now (106), my life is my life, and I've not hurt anyone, nor any soul.
I pray I'm alive when cannabis is legal... when terrorists like Eric Holder who threaten the citizens of CA if they vote in a way he doesn't like is gone... good riddance. Our political system is broken... because, We The People don't make the decisions... in many cases, special interests do. A 46-54 % vote to legalize cannabis in CA should be a wakeup call to Washington, and Pres. Obama. You can have your "War on Drugs", Just Leave Cannabis Out of IT!!!
Thanks for visiting...

CA PROP 19 - The Success of Failure From Public Nemesis #1 to a CA Vote of 46 - 54 %...
THE Success of Failure is with Prop 19 in California is mind-bending. How can such a "dangerous drug as marijuana" be endorsed and even procure 46% of CA voters approval? Since 1937 and the Marijuana Tax Act", passed by the US congress to save Americans from the most dangerous drug of all time, in 2010 there seems to be a crack in the Federal Govt's case against cannabis. Not the least of which is that cannabis, known today as marijuana, didn't exist prior to the 1930's, except in Mexico.
Today WE talk and vote on "legalizing marijuana", and it didn't exist until that historic and bogus Tax Act.
Americans call it ganja, and I have the documentation, have posted it, to prove it. Fact being... you can't make war against US citizens over something that has no basis in American history. To do so is unconstitutional, it's a "sting", it's making citizens appear in a place that doesn't exist for the purpose of subjecting them to illegal actions. Laws that violate their right to "Pursuit of Happiness"...
Prop 19 had one major flaw... it's not "marijuana", that's what they call it in Mexico. And I really don't know how many more times i will need to clarify that to honor the history of the United States of America. The proof in the injustice wrought by cannabis prohibition is evident in the name of the bill that made cannabis a prohibited plant... and that is by not making what we Americans called it illegal, but rather by what Mexican's called it.
Wake up people... it's "shadows and mirrors"....
I've been asking the questions for 30+ years about legalizing cannabis... I knew the chance that California's Prop 19 would pass was doubtful. Could always be hopeful, but I know, the very people that enjoy using it and think nothing of it, when asked, will come back with an instinctive - "No Way - It's illegal... I shouldn't be legal, and then in the next breath, well, yes, it's better than drinking or smoking tobacco".
Actually I can be happy Prop 19 didn't pass in CA. Why? Because after 70+ years of this bullshit, that would have been far too easy, after all we people have been through ... if you know what I mean. Think, having the legal right to eat a tomato.
Despite a hugely successful and affective propaganda scam for 70+ years attempting to make cannabis the devil's weed, Prop 19 failed by only a slim number of votes: 54 to 46. The "failed" vote for prop 19 in CA was a victory...
To: "Gil Kerlikowske's, two-sentence statement on Proposition 19: "Today, Californians recognized that legalizing marijuana will not make our citizens healthier, solve California’s budget crisis, or reduce drug related violence in Mexico. The Obama Administration has been clear in its opposition to marijuana legalization because research shows that marijuana use is associated with voluntary treatment admissions for addiction, fatal drugged driving accidents, mental illness, and emergency room admissions."
Ah, No Gil... you really are desperate to keep your job.
The vote doesn't show or suggest that's how Americans think. It shows nearly half of Americans believe cannabis should be legal, and they don't believe your friggin' crap.
God acts in mysterious ways, and maybe, WE just prevented corporate America from securing rights to growing cannabis for sale and taxation. Maybe, we said NO to corporate America, and Yes, to We The People.
This close vote on Prop 19 should be a wake-up call to Washington... that you're naked when it comes to prohibition of cannabis.

INTERMISSION - UPDATES - OTHER INUENDO...
Yeah... so you don't know... I quitting tobacco once again... not myself... DT's... last post a disaster, everything a disaster... god I hate tobacco dt's!
I get ahead of myself...
I remind myself from time to time I don't always have to have a "story" for a post on my blog. It's a blog, afterall...
But I am filled with learned requirements, duties, responsibilities... and the "you shoulds..."
My father liked to ask: "Why are you rebelling?" It would freak me out really, him being really my best friend, yet knowing, as a student of "higher education" that is young adults do, they rebel. I would try and come up with a "smart answer", but it never mattered, his question was a statement.
Other news: off the tobacco again... going on 5 days. Those of you out there who know or I guess, don't know, you're truly quitting a "drug". Nicotine addiction is BAD. I mean I am having hallucinations at times... I had to call in sick from work yesterday
So for the twentieth time, or there-abouts, I've quitting again; Cheers.
I now understand why alcohol is legal though, and why you can buy as much as you like. ... it's so you can stay drunk the whole time you go through tobacco withdrawal!
And also on the subject of "drugs", I heard on NPR tonight that the President's of Mexico, Columbia, and one other country are begging California voters to vote "No on Prop 19". They say voting "Yes" will send the wrong message. That the War is working?
News that 30 Mexican police walked off the job, from the same station, today, citing the level of violence and threat also sends the wrong messgae.
I'd line 'em up in front of a firing squad for dereliction of duty, treason... The War on Drugs must be won...
Can I have a cigarette, please?
Can't wait to see what Eric Holder's War in California amounts to... when Prop 19 is voted in. Can't waith to see the Terminator Governor, and Jerry Brown, the new Governor mobilizing the state National Guad to defend it's legal farmers from being busted for growing their commodity.
If the federal government can't accept the rights of the people in California, what can they do?
Personally, I think AG Eric Holder should step down. His threat against Prop 19 and citizens of CA are disturbing and dispespectful to the people of CA. The US Attorney General should have respect for Sate's Rights and Laws... This article I posted already, but here it is again, clearly shows he is unbalanced: "ERIC HOLDER TO PROSECUTE...", not fit for office. Not deserving of my tax dollars that pay his salary!
Enough... need more Nicorette!!!
I'll be back... um yeah...
I get ahead of myself...

The APOCALYPSE: CA vs the DEA - AG ERIC HOLDER DECLARES WAR ON CA, PROP 19 - THIS STORY IS FICTION/SATIRE
It's like a repeat of 1937. AG Eric Holder, 2010 - And Harry Anslinger, 1930's, Federal Director of Narcotics... it's the same old, same old... and I'm really tired of the whole issue. If Prop 19 passes , and it will, what's AG Holder going to do? Invade California???
Fiction (I Hope!): Nov. 02, 2010:
Proposition 19 passes by a landslide vote in California. CA growers are ready, and use of cannabis surges... violence decreases, CA finds itself swimming in money as millions exit the closet and buy the popular herb. CA rebounds
ENTER:
AG ERIC HOLDER:
APOCALYPSE 2010 - the DEA vs.CA.
NEWS FLASH (Fiction):
Federal DEA Agents descend upon California's legal grower's of cannabis, and the citizens of California as Prop 19legalizes marijuana. AG Eric Holder declars War on California growers... citizens describe it as an invasion!
Hundreds flee, as thousands of helicopters, shiny black cars and vans of federal agents, many wearing DEA jackets arrive in California. The governor of California, "Terminator" Arnold Schwarzenegger, activates the National Guardand State Militia.
Thousands dead, as the war on drugs in Mexico seems to spread to the State of California... residents plead with Washington to end the invasion...
(Fiction): President Obama defends attorney general Eric Holders attack in CA, calling it the duty of the federal government to uphold the law - that cannabis is a Schedule One Narcotic and subject to strict federal law. He admitsthere could be further discussion, but has more pressing concerns... Wall Street it seems is suddenly, once againin trouble... Phillip Morse has filed for bankruptcy... too many Californians have stopped smoking their products they claim, and PM wants time and federal money to buy into the lucrative cannabis market.
Sorry, PM... YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE IN THE 1970's WHEN YOU OPPOSED REFORM!

An Anonymous Government source, not at liberty to speak candidly says the federal government was just weeks away from ending the "war on drugs forever". Government scientists, the source claims, invented a parasite that infests all illegal drugs, and the parasite migrates to users of those drugs, targets one's spine, where it grows and bursts forth - blood and gore, revealing and destroying the offender.
Update: Pres. Obama makes a statement strongly encouraging citizens to look away from the devils weed, and embrace legal, taxable forms of enjoyment - like tobacco and alcohol, while the feds find new ways to discourage marijuana..
WELL GET REAL...
AG Eric Holder's position on Prop 19 passage is out of line and irresponsible! I don't pay taxes so people like him can make terrorist threats while in office!
I demand a "redress of federal laws" placing cannabis in the category of being a Schedule One Drug.
I demand that tobacco be considered for schedule one drug classification.
Looking forwards to listening to NPR in the next year about the War in CA... in fact, although I'm plain broke, I think I will pledge for NPR for the simple reason I trust they will be openly covering the war.
It's like something out of the movies: "Aliens vs Predators"... the way Eric Holder talks... way to go! Not!
Please, give Pres. Obama a 2nd term... give him a chance. I'm convinced he's as tired of all this crap as we all are. President Jimmy Carter recognized the Constitutional Right of an America Citizen to use cannabis in 1978. He legalized it, along with home-brewed beer and wine, both had been illegal from the start of the 18 amendment. The latter succeeded, and we have our micro breweries today and home made wine production - thanks to Pres. Carter. Unfortunately, he was stoned for legalizing cannabis...
Within two weeks, CA will vote to support what Pres. Carter tried to do in 1978.
Legalize cannabis.
The most harmful thing about marijuana, are the laws!
STOP THE HURT!!!

CALIFORNIA - PROPOSITION 19 - Legalize Cannabis... VOTE YES!
know, superheroes like Blogger Slam Dunk wouldn't touch advocating for decriminalization of a "drug". I agree, but my stance on cannabis is firm... it isn't a "drug", not in the sense it's a "drug" made in a laboratory. God is in charge of cannabis. He created it. Why hasn't God been arrested yet???
Cannabis is a plant, an herb in the truest sense. No different than chamomile, for relaxation, Valerian as a tranquilizer, St. Johnswort, as an anti-depressant. All have been used safely for thousands of years, as herbal medicines. The issue isn't however that certain plants were suddenly and scientifically proven to be dangerous.
The issue is, that in the early 20th century, drug addiction in this country was a very serious problem. The pharmacist/chemist that invented Coca-Cola died of cocaine addiction...
Opium, derived from the opium poppy, was a hardy import from China in the late 19th to 20th century... opium is quite the pleasurable experience, but it is very addictive, a narcotic.
Two early laws passed by Congress in the beginning of the 20th century addressed those issues, as well as a US led ban on importation of narcotic substances..
That being said, coca leaf, from which cocaine is derived, is legally purchased in several countries, as addictive as coffee and just as popular. The effects of chewing coca leaves is not the same thing as the cocaine extracted in a lab. Although people enjoyed the "original Coca Cola", it did contain cocaine. Rightly so, Congress passed regulations... for public safety.
The same is not true for cannabis. It was recognized and a standard medication in the US Pharmacopeadia until around 1940. It was also used for relaxation, much like tobacco. Today WE recognize tobacco is truly dangerous, addictive and not good for us. Many understand, and much scientific research not funded by the federal gov't has found cannabis to not only a safer plant, with many more benefits than tobacco, but also, therapeutic.
The problem is that the deluge of media propaganda starting in the 1930's not only demonized cannabis, it made it the "crown jewel" of the "war on drugs". The fried eggs/brains image... the lazy teenager turned crazy and unmotivated... all of it a plus to private interests who prefer American citizens drown using tobacco, and suffer unlimited harms while under the influence of alcohol.
Yet President Obama recently held a "pow-wow" with jaded persons over beers at the White-House. How hypocritical is that? My best "pow-wows" were passing a ganja cigarette - cannabis, and for those scratching their heads - a joint, aka, marijuana.
I've said it so many times... the only reason cannabis/ganja was made illegal and renamed as marijuana were issues in the 1930's with illegal immigrants from Mexico; oh, and the fear by White aristocrats that "Negroes were and would take advantage of White girls, by doping them with marijuana". William Randolf Hearst, for historical reference... if you question my sanity. Go ahead, look him up... a media mogul who, well, draw your own conclusions.
All I am saying is documented in the History Channel's - "Hooked, Illegal Drugs and How they Got that Way". (It's in my media list).
All gets lost in historical forgetfulness when considering that for the past 73, we, our governments, our judiciaries, have "waged a war on drugs"... with marijuana as the focal point and to what end???
END?
Thousands of people murdered, tortured, killed and their careers destroyed because WE citizens preferred our "catnip".
We enjoyed and benefited from our cannabis for thousands of years before the political nightmare began in 1937.
Please: Vote YES for Prop 19...
Just in case you thing I'm waging a one man war here, I received the following e-mail from LEAP: "Law Enforcement Against Prohibition":
Dear Bobkat: We are witnessing a truly pivotal moment in drug policy reform. In just a few short weeks, California voters will have the opportunity to vote for Proposition 19: The Regulate, Tax and Control Cannabis Act of 2010. Prop 19 will put police priorities back where they belong by allowing law enforcers to do their jobs more effectively, ending the arrest of nonviolent marijuana users and making the streets safer for everyone. Whether you are a resident of California or not, Prop 19 affects all of us... Link from LEAP.
Unforunately, I have some bad news:
SAN FRANCISCO — Attorney General Eric Holder is warning that the federal government will not look the other way... Link from Huffington Post. AG Eric Holder is already planning a "war on California" if Prop 19 passes... DEA and other federally tax-payer funded raids and arrests for distributing what they call marijuana, and what they are stuck, as if in a special ed program of believing cannabis is the most dangerous "drug" ever!
Maybe we should have a "War on Breast Feeding MOMS"... many stories in the news in the last many years about how negative "breast-feeding" is in a "perfect society such as ours - haul them off to jail, charge them with misdemeanor breast feeding charges... !!! ...
This final question:
What doctor, under Socratic Oath, would prescribe or recommend cannabis to their patient's if it was not medicinally or theraputically helpful and useful?
Not many.
Yet, Eric Holder, Attorney General, is FIRM about the LAW of the Federal Land... that according to the law, "marijuana" is a Schedule One Drug - Seriously addictive and with NO medicinal value".
Total crap!!!
Millions of "60's - 70's Hippies" turned into Zombies? Like something out of "Resident Evil"?
No!!!
What I see are peace-loving hippies even 50 years later... and a federal government with ulterior and destructive motives that hurt and have hurt millions of people.
So who's wearing the clothes in our family???
Not the feds... not Eric Holder, that's for sure... they are stuck in a past, a past with ZERO basis in reality.
We need a third choice in in our problems with drug abuse... a safer choice, and that choice is ganja!
VOTE YES on Prop 19 and tell the feds it's time to STOP the HURT!!!

GENESIS... THE ORIGIN OF HUMANKIND - PART 5
EVE AWAKENS...
In the center of The Garden of Eden was a tree... and God told Adam and All the rest of humankind they were not to eat of this tree. The reason God gave was that IF, they ate from this tree they would have knowledge, knowledge of Good and Evil.
So for many years Adam toiled alone, tilling the fields within Eden, the Garden; his friends were the animals God gave to him, they were in his keep. They were not his partner either.
So one day, God causes a deep sleep to come upon Adam, and God performed surgery upon Adam, removing one of his rib bones, and creating the woman. When he awoke, he had a new companion, a woman, he named her Eve.

Genesis 3
3Now the serpent was more crafty than any other wild animal that theLord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God say, “You shall not eat from any tree in the garden”?’
2The woman said to the serpent, ‘We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden;
3but God said, “You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, nor shall you touch it, or you shall die.” ’
4But the serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not die;
5for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’
6So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate.
7Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.
8 They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
They were both naked and unashamed of their nakedness.
My opinion, the serpent was a penis. Shocking, I imagine. The idea. I simply don't believe in serpents that speak. It was a metaphor, for Eve's sudden epiphany, at the center of The Garden.
Didn't God say, be fruitful and multiply in Genesis, Chapter One? 75,000 years ago this was humanity. Hominids becoming human. Adam somehow was selected to begin the reign of humankind in our world. But he wasn't alone.
Other men, other women, sought Adam....
One was a woman named Lilith:

Other men, other women, sought Adam....
One was a woman named Lilith:
It is said, "Lilith was Adam's first wife..." but since at the time humankind had no real self-awareness, no knowledge of good or evil, it is unlikely Adam knew he had a wife. At least there is no record that any ceremony had made them husband and wife.
That Eve ate the fruit from the tree God forbade humans to eat from, is in my opinion, something that was inevitable. It is my belief, that God knew, at some point in time, someone would partake of the fruit. It is also my believe that it wasn't so much a command by God not to eat of the fruit, but a warning.
Innocence is Bliss, as the saying goes, and Eve, for whatever reason, ate the forbidden fruit, and found that it was good..
When I was in my late teens, becoming an adult, I admit I was pretty ignorant. I believed others held the key to life, to the truth. I didn't question authority... I had been taught conformity and lock-step. Among the truths I was led to believe, that drugs, like marijuana, were dangerous, a forbidden fruit.
Hardly.
When I tasted it, the first time nothing happened. It was a couple years until the second time... god did I laugh, as did my two friends. I'd not laughed like that ever... that I could remember, and it was very good to laugh.
Yeah, laughter is deadly... especially when it opens one's mind to the impossible, that is possible.
I learned the truth, I became aware that day. Self-aware. Not a bad thing is it?
At around age 40 I made an appointment with a minister at a Unitarian church in Portsmouth NH. I sat with him and discussed my belief that Eve had experienced was an awakening based upon the use of a psychotropic plant... however, he completely disagreed with my hypothesis. His reason - marijuana was an illicit drug, and the scriptures did not support the use of an illicit drug as being the crime Eve had committed.
Yet today, we know many people are made outcasts for the use of illicit drugs, that their lives are ruined by man-made laws that forbid such fruit. And we know some such fruits, especially those made by man, also destroy lives. Yet, I have seen cannabis grow as tall as a tree... and I have seen it is indeed a very beautiful tree, a plant; not the bad or grotesque plant others would command me to believe it is. I understand knowledge is power, and any power can be used for good, or evil.
GENESIS 3 concludes with the CURSE:
9But the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, ‘Where are you?’
10He said, ‘I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.’ 11He said, ‘Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?’
12The man said, ‘The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate.’ 13Then the Lord God said to the woman, ‘What is this that you have done?’ The woman said, ‘The serpent tricked me, and I ate.’
14The Lord God said to the serpent,
‘Because you have done this, cursed are you among all animals and among all wild creatures; upon your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.’
16To the woman he said, ‘I will greatly increase your pangs in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children, yet your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.’
17And to the man he said, ‘Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree
about which I commanded you, “You shall not eat of it”, cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken;
you are dust, and to dust you shall return.’
20 The man named his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all who live.
17And to the man he said, ‘Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree
about which I commanded you, “You shall not eat of it”, cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken;
you are dust, and to dust you shall return.’
20 The man named his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all who live.
21And the Lord God made garments of skins for the man and for his wife, and clothed them.
22 Then the Lord God said, ‘See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever’—
22 Then the Lord God said, ‘See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever’—
23therefore theLord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
24He drove out the man; and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim, and a sword flaming and turning to guard the way to the tree of life.
24He drove out the man; and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim, and a sword flaming and turning to guard the way to the tree of life.
I am cursed... we are all cursed having gained self-awareness. It was not a crime, but rather our fate. Woman should be no more condemned than man, as it was our destiny to become self-aware. It was our destiny to discover the truth. What we make from our knowledge of good and evil, our knowledge of life, is ours to command, to bear, and to build upon. We can continue to condemn each other, hurt others because they may be different from ourself or what we believe is right or wrong, but we are all one. We are humankind. We are God's children. We were created in His Image.

GENESIS... THE ORIGIN OF HUMANKIND - PART 4
Edited Sept. 25, 2010; 11AM
Here is where we begin to discover a paradox, between Genesis 1:26, the sixth day of CREATION and Genesis 2.

From Genesis 1:
"26 Then God said, ‘Let us make humankind* in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth,* and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth."
"27 So God created humankind* in his image, in the image of God he created them;* male and female he created them."
"28God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.’ 29God said, ‘See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food."
Man, reborn, after God rested on the seventh day.

Those passages from the Old Testament, suggest man and woman were created together, on the sixth day of Creation. And God said: "Be fruitful and multiply..." In addition, "God created man and woman in his image..." Years later, Jesus, the Son of God said much the same thing. But that is for another post. Fact is... humankind were created on the sixth day... with dominion over the Earth, and encouraged to "be fruitful and multiply". Man and woman procreating.
Which brings us to Genesis, Chapter 2, verse 7:
"7then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground,* and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being."
"8And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed." "9Out of the ground the Lord God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."
Man, reborn, after God rested on the seventh day.
"15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it."
"16And the Lord God commanded the man, ‘You may freely eat of every tree of the garden."
"17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die."
"16And the Lord God commanded the man, ‘You may freely eat of every tree of the garden."
"17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die."
Well we already knew that was coming - Drug Prohibition... "The forbidden fruit!" But what drugs, if drugs the tree was? And apples, really?? It doesn't specify apples... at least not yet.
Adam working away, alone, tilling fields. Sounds like history when our species changed from hunters and gatherers, around 75,000 years, ago if I remember correctly, to set down roots and become farmers.
Adam working away, alone, tilling fields. Sounds like history when our species changed from hunters and gatherers, around 75,000 years, ago if I remember correctly, to set down roots and become farmers.
"18 Then the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner."
"19So out of the ground the Lord God formed every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name."
"20The man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field; but for the man* there was not found a helper as his partner."
"20The man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field; but for the man* there was not found a helper as his partner."
Gone now are the dinosaurs, and modern animals now populate the earth. And poor Adam, alone somehow, tilling the fields, though we know humankind exist, so I would have to assume that Adam, with dominion over the earth, was not only working hard at something new to humanity, but also probably pretty depressed without a partner. So God tries one more thing:
"21So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then he took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh."
"22And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man."
"23Then the man said, ‘This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one shall be called Woman."
"22And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man."
"23Then the man said, ‘This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one shall be called Woman."
Why the paradox of the creation? Genesis One, and Genesis Two? The answer is, humankind evolved during the millions of years that God rested.
After God awoke, something happened, something changed.

GENESIS... THE ORIGIN OF HUMANKIND - PART 3
Welcome to GENESIS and "The Temple of Time".

^*^
*^*
Over the years I have collected books. Historical books in particular. The image posted above is from a book called "Universal History", by Emma Willard, 1855. I have no idea who Emma Willard was... have not had the chance to research her yet.
It sets the date in history of CREATION, at 4004 BC. In the image above that is the centerpiece of the Temple and at the very back of the temple. It's the answer to the argument by today's creationists. Her book is divided into three separate eras: "Ancient, Middle, and Modern". It's priceless in it's understanding of the world before Darwin.

I wondered for years why dinosaurs mattered... why I asked my Sunday school teacher about them. There's a lot I didn't understand until my early twenties. The primary reason was I didn't feel comfortable questioning things. I believed life and society were organized, and to question that organization was inappropriate. Yet, I did question things, and the mystery of how dinosaurs and man began, and historically could coexist, was a burning question.
My Sunday school teacher, Joel, wasn't completely wrong when he answered my question, and told me dinosaurs were from when the world was a dark void. It's obvious to me now that at age 8, I have some idea that Creation happened after the dinosaurs. Somehow, this notion that Creation happened, say 4004 BC, was a fact I believed in my subconscious. Yet I knew dinosaurs roamed the Earth long before...
According to the most recent understanding of the origins of a modern people, it's estimated they left Africa between 120,000 years to 75,000 years ago. Long prior to 4004 BC.
I also understand now that GOD "created plants and animals and creepy things" long before humankind..That the Creation did take place, over millions of years, and I believe it did take 7 days... 7 very long days... days that lasted billions of years.
Dinosaurs roamed the Earth long before man, and God made it so according to the Book of Genesis. Plants came before the dinosaurs. Plants like cannabis, which I can't resist but admire, and highlight. All prior to the existence of humankind, and "God saw that it was good".
The origins of who we are go back millions of years, but there was a time ignorance was bliss, and we were akin to animals. There also came the time of the first "self-aware" human being. We can take it from the Bible that first self-aware human was named Eve. And she influenced Adam.
We can add the mystery of the snake in the Garden of Eden, and the existence of other humans, like Lillith, described in details in books the Catholic church chose to expunge from "The Bible" in the 14th century.
Next time... "The Original Sin and the Original Penalty..."

GENESIS... THE ORIGIN OF HUMANKIND - PART 2
I began GENESIS with the Third day of Creation. The reason I did so was because after the First and the Second Day, which follows, God made the plants, made Nature.
Whether you take the Bible literally, or as an interesting story, fact is, Nature came before humankind. Before living creatures. At the end of the Third day of Creation, the world was formed, but neither human, nor animal, nor creepy thing existed.
God created the Paradise of Nature first. And that is when life began, after the Third Day. But In The
Beginning:

"And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years, and let them be lights in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth.’ And it was so. God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. God set them in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day. And God said, ‘Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky.’ So God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, of every kind, with which the waters swarm, and every winged bird of every kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them, saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.’ And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day."
Here we have Nature, plants and then the creation of all the different kinds of animals and creepy things. The end of the Fifth Day. And Humankind has not yet been created. Yet, my Sunday school teacher told me dinosaurs came before man, when the Earth was without form. And he was wrong. It didn't make sense to me then that dinosaurs ruled the world before mankind. Growing up, man always came first somehow. We were superior to everything within creation. That is what I was taught. Man had to have come before the dinosaurs, if man's dominion was real. Yet, archeology taught, dinosaurs came first. My teacher's answer to my question didn't settle well; it made me curious.
And then I found out why.
Man; Humankind didn't come first. Plants, Trees, Animals and Creepy things did, as did the dinosaurs. It wasn't until the end of the Sixth Day that God made Man and Woman. The reason is self awareness. The whole story as to why Darwinism and Creationism seem to conflict is what happened on the Sixth day of Creation?
Did humans evolve, or were they "Created" by God? The answer is "YES" to both questions. What the Old Testament of the Bible teaches is, God looked upon the Earth and All that had been Created. Whether the story of Genesis says so or not, Hominids already existed... and on the Sixth Day God Created the first humans:
"Then God said, ‘Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.’ So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.’ God said, ‘See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.’ And it was so. God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day."
The Old Testament tells the story handed down over generations of Humankind's origin. It's a fascinating and remarkable story. The mere fact the story was handed down over many generations to find itself in print is extraordinary!
In my next post - the "Temple of Time" and our origin... the Sixth Day.
But In The
Beginning:

"In the beginning when God created* the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God* swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
And God said, ‘Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.’ So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. And it was so. God called the dome Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day."
I was an inquisitive child. Thanks to my Aunt Helen who gave me Ray Bradbury's book, "R IS FOR ROCKET", at around age 8, I began to gain interest, insight and knowledge of the world. I can't say I was truly "self-aware" then, just that a seed was growing, a seed that might continue to grow, or may have died.
I don't recall what age I was when during a Sunday school class, I had a burning question for my Sunday school teacher, a man named Joel. What I couldn't understand is where the dinosaurs fit into the origin of humankind.
In my own mind, it was Day Four and after that stuck.

GENESIS... THE ORIGIN OF HUMANKIND - PART 1
CREDIT for Biblical Quotes: DEVOTIONS - THE OLD TESTAMENT ONLINE
"God said, ‘Let the waters under the sky be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.’ And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, ‘Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.’ And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good."
Welcome, to Genesis...
The beginning of humankind.
I was raised going to church every Sunday, in the Protestant religion, known as "Zion Covenant". I spent 3 years in SHS going every Friday to religious classes, to graduate what was called "Confirmation". At the end of that time, I was to join the church. I didn't. Neither did my sister. Everyone else did.
The Old Testament of the Bible always fascinated me. It's the New Testament I have issues with. During the 14th century the Catholic Church convened a meeting, a meeting that for now I could care less about, but it was a meeting that changed the world, a meeting where women were deemed subservient to men and a link to Satan, a meeting where what books of the Bible were deemed ADMISSIBLE. Several Books of the Bible were omitted then by the CHURCH. The Jewish Apocrypha, for one. The fact is, man, literally, decided what their Bible would be... and until the 20th century, women had little to say about it.
I find all that hard to understand, but easy to accept. I accept it because people evolved, and our history of how we evolved is what made us who we as a world are today.
History is something to look back on, and question, but it can't be changed. It can only be built upon.
I'm not writing here to remind us we live in troubling times. That is nothing new.
I am here to tell our story of Genesis...
Because it appears... we disagree on The Truth. And I believe, I understand the truth.
In the beginning... there had to be a first human being that became "self-aware", and the Old Testament tells it was a woman named Eve.
Eve, and Adam, and All of humankind was cursed that day. Not because God wanted it, but rather, because, becoming self-aware, is a curse. "Ignorance is bliss", it goes without saying. But I said it. Because there are many that take bliss in ignorance... shelter in their religion, shelter in their politics, shelter in their own beliefs.
The most common form of shelter is called dichotomy, the belief that there is "right and wrong", "black or white", "truth or lies". The fact is the world is gray and full of color.
In the following posts, it's my hope to bring some color and gray into your life. Yet, I know, for many, your minds are made up. You know the truth.
Yes, you know the truth...
As do I.
Apple anyone?

BEDBUGS AND THE REV. TERRY JONES - ON "BURN THE QURAN"
Reverend Terry Jones of the Dove Outreach Center, Gainesville, FL.... considered a Church of Christ... is Pastor of the small Christian congregation... has been in the news of late vowing to burn the Islamic Bible, the Quran... the church is noted as condemning Islam as a satanic religion, which just happens to be the practice and the religion of millions of Muslim people. It also happens to be the alleged religion of the terrorists who killed a couple thousand people on Sept. 11, 2001, obliterating the Twin Towers in NYC, and hijacking two other airplanes, one which hit the Pentagon, the other that was heroically crashed in a field in PA when passengers overtook the terrorists.
Well, Rev. Jones believes Islam is evil. That building a mosque near "Ground Zero" in NYC is reason enough to burn a Holy Book of Islam. In protest.
On NPR tonight I heard he has spoke with God, and decided not to burn the Quran. But in the same report it was stated he decided God spoke to him because an Imam Muhammad Musri agreed to not build the mosque near Ground Zero as originally planned.
So who is Rev. Jones dealing with here? God or his own personal voices? Conflicting news suggests that the pastor is now changed his mind and is again planning on burning the Quran in protest because the mosque deal may be off. Odd, as God, if he truly spoke to the pastor would have told him all this.
Maybe the pastor doesn't hear too good... but all I know is, this is a great example of why I don't associate with organized religion.
I'm honesty not an atheist, but rather more of a Druid. I believe in God, but my God is All... all religions, all beliefs, all that is, was and will ever be.
As I've said before, my one moral is "don't hurt others". By burning the Quran, Rev. Jones is hurting the faith and the spirit of Muslims worldwide. It is fueling a fire that apparently the Christian pastor believes is just and approved by his god. All for the sake of a mosque that Muslims wish to build near, but not on Ground Zero.
The Rev. Jones apparently believes Muslims are akin to bedbugs... a pest to destroy. Fact is, it's mosquitoes that carry disease, not bedbugs. Maybe to those of the Christian faith, those who "Trust in God", Islam is a pest, but they are not the devil that Rev. Jones would believe they are.
I would like to ask Rev. Jones how many Muslims died in the destruction of the World Trade Center, destroyed by a pack of mosquitoes claiming to be the angels of Islam? It's a mistake of media worldwide that only Americans died in the destruction. Fact is, people of all faiths died.
Not one mention of that fact have I ever seen or read in any media reports... but that's the truth. Human beings of all kinds perished. The world was hurt... not just Americans!
Rev. Jones... you want to incite WW3, in America you have that right. I really could care less if I have to go to work on Monday if WW3 breaks out if you burn the Quran. But think about it! Is it the GOD talking to you or your own voices you call god? Because seriously... what happened on Sept. 11, 2001 was not the Muslims attacking us, but a radical group of extremists. If nothing else, God has given you the gift of making that message clear to the world, because I really don't think most people understand that. On the other hand, if your goal is to claim God doesn't want the mosque build near Ground Zero, then to me, you are nothing but a misguided, eccentric man that could very well light the fuse to WW3.
As President Obama said quite clearly, America is a Country that tolerates and welcomes religious freedom. Not that an atheist could ever become president, but then, it wasn't long ago that it was not deemed possible that a man "of color" could become president.
So what will it be? WW3 or religious tolerance??? Personally, I'd prefer a cannabis dispensary be built near ground Zero, since cannabis users tend to be peaceful, but I doubt I'll get my wish.
Talk to your god again, and maybe actually listen this time! You call yourself a Christian? I have my doubts!

JUSTICE FOR JESSICA - BUTTS FAMILY MURDERS - PART 2
Edited Sept. 06, 2010
I'm not here to write the story about the murder of three people, the Butts family. That's already been done, told by journalist Sonny Long, who followed the Butt's Family murders almost from the beginning. Without his commitment, the murders most likely would never have come to the level it is today, which is that the long-time suspect, Kevin Hailey, pleaded guilty to strangling Gerri Faye Butts, the single mother of two children. I understand Mr. Long is finishing up a book on the the Butt's family.
Sonny Long provided everything one could possibly want in sleuthing a crime, a heinous crime that took the innocent lives of three persons - Gerri Faye, Jessica and Mackenzie Butts.
Sonny Long, put this WEBSITE together, and this timeline of events, beginning with the following:
Place - Atlanta, Texas (approx 20 miles from Texarkana)Population - 6,400
Cass County
Police department - - 21 employees - - 16 police officers
Gerri Faye Butts, 29, and her daughters, Jessica, 11, and MacKenzie, 3.
Gerri worked for minimum wage at Stanco, a safety glove manufacturer. She lived in a trailer with her 2 daughters. They had different fathers, neither father was in the picture.
Gerri Faye had been arrested for selling marijuana in 1985. 21 people were caught in that "bust" - - only 2 didn't do time - - one was Gerri Faye.
Is it possible she made a deal to stay out of jail? Did she have any enemies from that time?
The Butts had received "scary" phone calls shortly before the murders. One said that they would all be dead in eight days. One of Jessica's friends at school was supposed to be in a skit the next week, but she hurt herself and on January 24th asked Jessica to take her place. Jessica said she better not agree to do that, she might be dead by then. This information came from a counselor at Jessica's school.
Reading though Sonny Long's comprehensive reporting on the murders, one finds that the alleged suspect, Kevin Hailey, wasn't the only suspect.
"OTHER SUSPECTS"; credit: Sonny Long::
"Bret Lawless was thought to be a suspect from early on, but he had an alibi (Lanette Butts) and passed a lie detector test. More than one person interviewed said that there was a "dispute" between Lawless and Gerri Faye over some land he wanted the family to sell. Gerri Faye was reportedly the lone holdout.
Bret was named by Atlanta Police as a possible suspect in Hailey's probable cause hearing, and Kevin's mother called him the killer on the Ma ury Povich Show."
Still, Kevin Hailey remained what most considered the prime suspect. He lived in the same neighborhood and the family, and although he didn't drive, (had lost his license or some such thing), during his recent trial, and previous ones, the defense argued he was home, and couldn't have traveled to the Butt's family home. Obviously the prosecution argued he lived in the same neighborhood - he could have walked!
SAM: I was involved in the very begining when the murders occuredm chief scott was over the investigation the first time we arrested hailey. Then the same ones who attacked me had chief scott ran off. That left no who was willing to push the case. I took it upon myself after 10 years to start pushing the case again. That's when they came after me.
SAM: I lived in Texarkana and I was a criminal investigator for the army at
the time. Worked part time (weekends) for the Atlanta Texas Police Dept.
Chief Scott was a retired Dallas Homicide Investigator and a good
friend. He wasn't run out of town but they pressured him so much he quit
the Chiefs job and got completely out of police work. He lived about 6
to 8 miles outside of Atlanta and still does. He had a series of strokes
and is partially paralyzed now.
All the other officers were afraid to do anything because they were
scared they would lose their job and they would have if they pushed the
case. I didn't make my living with the City of Atlanta and since I was
involved with the case from the beginning I decided to push it.
In 1992 I was in my early thirties gun hoe and full of piss and vinegar.
The day the Butts bodies were discovered was Monday morning around 0800.
I was in a dentist chair having a root canal when I heard about it. By
the time I made it down there they had removed the bodies. I did not see
the bodies but I possess a crime scene video tape if it still works?
I studied all the crime scene photos, autopsy reports, evidence and
helped in the investigation. I also helped develop some of the evidence.
Chief Scott told me everything and I had access to the complete case
file. I'll be really surprised if I'm not called to testify over some of
the evidence. I hope I can stay out of it but will see. BobKat when I was
30 years old nobody came on my turf (beat) and murdered children and got
away with it.
NOBODY !!!!!!

Motive butts? Kevin owed geri money and wouldn't pay her. She told some of her friends she was going to get in his face. I guess she did.
Jessica, from the following: "TIMELINE 1992", credit: Sonny Long
"11 year old Jessica was found on the bed. She was wearing a t-shirt, her panties had been removed and she had been sexually assaulted. Later it would come out that she was killed first - - the sexual assault came after her death - -she had been injured but had not bled. Apparently there was a tear in the vagina but the hymen itself was intact.
One source told me that three pubic hairs were found at that scene. Two on the sheets - and one was on her toe - - a bit of mud was on her toe (had the killer carried it in? Stepped on her toe, perhaps? Her feet were on the floor, her buttocks at the end of
the bed.) The pubic hairs were checked and it was reported that they belonged to Kevin Hailey. Again, could they have been there from weeks before? Another source said what was found on her toe was a HAIR MASS, like from the tub drain.
Enter the egg - - there was an egg casing on one of the hairs -- the egg of a crab. The egg was photographed and studied and the experts say it was in day 7 or 8 of a 10 day incubation period.
When Kevin Hailey was questioned 4 days after the murder - -he was suffering with a new outbreak of crabs.
There was no semen or DNA found on her body or the sheets."

During the Winter of 2004, I was assisting Brianna Maitland's family in there effort to find her. As fate would have it they asked me to work with a criminal profiler out of Texas. I call him Sam as he wishes anonymity. While we spoke mostly about Brianna Maitland, I discovered "Sam" had been involved the the Butt's family murders. What follows are some excerpts from e-mails we exchanged. It provide a unique perspective on really happens during an investigation.

file. I'll be really surprised if I'm not called to testify over some of
the evidence. I hope I can stay out of it but will see. BobKat when I was
30 years old nobody came on my turf (beat) and murdered children and got
away with it.
NOBODY !!!!!!
*******
I'll leave you with the following description of the scene where Jessica was found murdered in her bedroom; Warning, contains graphic descriptions of violence.

"Justice for Jessica" is about evidence and facts. How can those be diminished? The evidence found on Jessica, even DNA available on the phone cord used to strangle her, is or should be more than enough to bring justice to Jessica's brutal murder. And the drowning of a baby.
You decide for yourself, if justice was served? Myself, I think not.
I may be back with more.
